KUHN Romania delivered one of the most impressive Grove cranes for infrastructure projects in Romania

KUHN Romania started 2026 with the delivery of a Grove GRT 8100 1 rough terrain crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes. The machine is intended for infrastructure projects and is mainly used for installing prefabricated elements on motorway jobsites, including bridge girders, precast panels and large pipelines.

A solution for complex infrastructure projects

Large infrastructure projects require precision, stability and constant workflow. In this context, the Grove GRT 8100 1 is built for demanding lifting operations where both performance and operational flexibility are essential.

With this delivery, KUHN Romania further strengthens its role as a partner for customers who need lifting equipment capable of meeting the real demands of modern jobsites.

Strong performance in challenging spaces

The Grove GRT 8100 1 stands out through technical features designed to support safe and efficient operation even in difficult conditions. These include the MAXbase system for variable outrigger positioning in narrow spaces or on uneven ground, high voltage line protection, the ability to travel with a load on the hook and fast boom setup. In certain configurations, MAXbase can improve lifting capacity by up to 15 percent.

Extended reach for installation work

Its 47 metre telescopic boom gives the crane a major advantage in large scale installation work. When required, the boom extension increases the working radius up to 60 metres, while the maximum tip height reaches 67 metres.

This setup allows controlled handling of heavy precast elements while reducing the need for frequent machine repositioning. The crane can also work with two hooks at the same time, helping maintain a steady workflow on site.

Operator comfort and precise control

In addition to lifting performance, the Grove GRT 8100 1 also provides a high level of operator comfort. The Full Vision cab offers excellent visibility, while the equipment includes a wide heated electrically adjustable seat, adjustable steering column, exterior cameras and an LED lighting package.

The Manitowoc CCS control system, together with integrated diagnostic and monitoring functions, supports precise operation and more efficient maintenance.

A real advantage for jobsite productivity

On infrastructure jobsites, where every hour matters, a crane like this directly supports project progress. After each lifting operation, the machine can quickly move into the next working position and continue installation in a steady and controlled rhythm.

This helps site teams stay on schedule and reduce the cost impact of delays.
